Student Teaching Eligibility Requirements

Fully admitted into the Teacher Certification program (not on provisional or conditional status). You may apply to student teach without being fully admitted, but you must be fully admitted in order to student teach.
Completion of required pre-student teaching hours of field experience in professional educational and methods courses.
Minimum GPA of 2.5 overall (including UTPB and transfer courses).
Minimum GPA of 2.75 in the teaching field or major; no grade below C.
Minimum GPA of 2.75 in teacher education courses; no grade below a C. All teacher education courses must be completed according to your plan.
Other than student teaching, will lack no more than two courses for graduation.
Passing score on the ExCET/TExES specialization test. Such tests include EC-4 Generalist, Elementary Comprehensive, EC-4 Bilingual Generalist, 4-8 Social Studies, 8-12 Life Science, All-Level P.E., and other similar tests.
