Student Teacher Informational Roundups for Fall 2013

If you plan to student teach or become an intern during the Fall 2013 semester, you MUST attend one of these  sessions.

All teacher education candidates are welcome!

February 21, 2013 @ 2:00pm and 5:30pm
February 22, 2013 @ 9:00am and 3:00pm
February 25, 2013 @ 10:00am and 4:00pm

**All sessions are in the MAC BORING ROOM  and will last about 45 minutes.

 
 

Applying for Student Teaching

**FALL 2013 STUDENT TEACHING IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

Applying to student teach is a 3 part process:

STEP ONE:
Complete the online application through TK20. The online application is due by March 21, 2013 at 5:00pm.  Click here for instructions.

STEP TWO:
Meet with your certification advisor and major advisor to complete the advisor's addendum. This form is due by March 21, 2013 at 5:00pm in the certification office. Click here for a copy of the advisor's addendum. 

STEP THREE
Submit your Educator Readiness Portfolio to the TK20 portal. The portfolio will be open March 22, 2013 through March 29, 2013 at 5:00pm. Click here for the Educator Readiness Portfolio directions.

Timeline

 
·         February 2013 – attend a student teacher informational roundup meeting
·         March 21 – deadline for submitting online application through TK20
·         March 21 -  deadline for submitting completed advisor’s addendum to the certification office (MB3215)
·         March 29 -  deadline to submit educator readiness portfolio through TK20 (open 3/22 – 3/29)
·         April 1 through April 9 – one on one interviews with the Director of Field Experiences
·         April 17 - Student teaching admission committee meets to determine eligibility. Students will be notified promptly of the committee’s decision
·         May 17 (tentative) - notification of tentative student teaching placement
·         June 6 – deadline to take care of criminal history background checks and other district Human Resource requirements
·         August 22 – Mandatory orientation for student teachers (date subject to change).
·         August 26 - begin student teaching placement at assigned campus
